Pipeline Watchdog RMU Interrupter

The NTG Pipeline Watchdog RMU Interrupter combines GPS-synchronized current interruption with wireless remote monitoring to bring a new level of reliability and simplicity to wireless GPS synchronized interruption and remote monitoring of cathodic protection rectifiers.

Communications options include GSM digital cellular (recommended for most North American sites) or Skywave Inmarsat D+ satellite, for deployment outside North America and at very remote locations.

Powerful Group Rectifier Interruption Control
A powerful new feature is the ability to quickly control and schedule synchronized GPS interruption of multiple current interrupters with just a few mouse clicks. The intuitive Pipeline Watchdog Web Monitor maintains the rectifier interruption schedule and ON/OFF times, which it transmits to all selected sites. At interruption time, the sites report their status, which is text-messaged to the user in the field so the status of all interrupters is positively known prior to starting survey work.

Wireless "Mesh" Technology for Enhanced Electrical Isolation and Improved Reliability
The Pipeline Watchdog RMU Interrupter is designed to withstand the most severe CP rectifier environments. NTG's new wireless 'mesh' technology measures rectifier voltage and current using small, self-contained, battery powered modules installed directly on the measurement points inside the rectifier. These modules wirelessly transmit readings to the RMU Interrupter unit, which can be installed in close proximity to, yet electrically isolated from, the rectifier. The inexpensive modules are surge protected and highly reliable, and the fact that they are not electrically connected to the RMU Interrupter unit greatly increases the system reliability and maintainability. Modules can easily be replaced in the field while the rest of the system continues to operate normally.
